Senior Research Associate in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering's Water Research Centre (WRC)
Hazel Rowley is a Senior Research Associate in the Sustainability Assessment Program at the UNSW Water Research Centre. She joined the team after gaining her BE (Environmental) with first class honours from UNSW in 2005, and was awarded her PhD in 2011. Her research interests include environmental and sustainability decision making, environmental life cycle assessment (LCA) & carbon/water footprinting, input-output & hybrid LCA, impact assessment models, ecological footprint methodology, and LCA in agriculture. Hazel has worked on a range of projects for various industrial clients, primarily focussing on the agricultural and water services sectors. Through her engineering background she has developed a strong technical capability, including a keen interest in data management, analysis and presentation using Microsoft Excel. Hazel is responsible for life cycle inventory data acquisition and analysis; life cycle modelling using GaBi software; developing decision frameworks and decision support tools; communicating and liaising with academic and industry partners; project management and project reporting.
