Earlier this week, WRL’s Jamie Ruprecht attended the 20th International River Symposium and Environmental Flows Conference in Brisbane.
Based on research using the Decision Support System (DSS) to assess the current conditions of riverbanks, and their vulnerability to erode due to high wash boating activities; Jamie presented “Boating management plans in the wake of rising powerboat ownership”.
Over 400 delegates from more than 20 countries attended the 3-day conference, hosted by the International RiverFoundation. At the 2016 Symposium held in India, Jamie was named as a finalist for the Emerging River Professional Award, being recognised for his work in wetland restoration.
