Best presentation award for Dr. Soo Huey Teh
WRC Research Associate Dr Soo Huey Teh won a best presentation award at this year’s Cooperative Research Centre for Low Carbon Living (CRCLCL) Annual Participants Forum: From Research to Reality.
The challenge given to the nominated presenters was to pitch research projects to industry participants to capture their attention, build their awareness and knowledge of the project, and for them to apply the research. Prior to the forum, the presenters attended a 3-day High Intensity Impact Training (HIIT) conducted by CRCLCL that coached presenters on how to pitch research projects to potential end-users and other stakeholders in an engaging, compelling and memorable way.
The CRCLCL Annual Participants’ Forum was held at the National Wine Centre of Australia in Adelaide on 19-20 November 2018. As the CRCLCL moves towards its successful completion in 2019, the Forum showcased key achievements – on how the CRCLCL’s research is lowering carbon emissions in the built environment. During the forum, there were three researcher focused sessions, each containing five researcher presentations followed by an interactive Q&A segment involving an industry panel and the audience.
The pitch “Get your Green Badge on” by Dr Soo Huey Teh was about the Embodied Carbon Explorer (ECE) tool, which is an online tool that enables rapid quantification of embodied (Scope 3) carbon emissions for a built environment project at any level (e.g. precinct, building, organisation, material, etc.) with National Carbon Offset Standard-suitable functionality.
The ECE tool was developed by the Integrated Carbon Metrics (ICM) project and hosted on the Industrial Ecology Virtual Laboratory (IELab) research platform. To find out more, please visit the website https://ece.ielab-aus.info or contact Soo.
